Frequently Asked Questions

Learn more about our mission and what you can expect when you visit us!

What should I wear when I visit on Sunday?

Your choice. Some are casual while some choose to dress up. No judgment here.

Are you a part of a denomination?

We are a part of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA). EFCA churches have united around common convictions and a shared passion to fulfill the Great Commission. We are also "a family of self-governing churches united around the same core beliefs." Some think that denominations aren't important, but we believe we have found the right balance between accountability and independence for our church.

Do I need to become a member? If so, what is the membership process?

You don't need to become a member to worship with us. But you should become a member to be an official part of The Church of Chicago. This makes us stronger around our core beliefs and mission. Membership means you become more than a spectator, but a partner in the gospel.

How do I get plugged into a small group? How many groups are there?

Start off by being a part of Bible Study. Small Groups, aka Life Groups, are formed once a group become sustainbale enough to meet on a regular basis. All are invited to our Life Groups, including anyone not currently attending The Church of Chicago.

We're excited to meet you!
